FORT WORTH (CBS11) – More than 20 families were forced from their homes Christmas morning after an apartment fire.

It happened at the Parkside Apartments on Sappington in West Fort Worth.

One man was injured when he jumped out of a window to safety.

“The guy that lived up there had to jump out of a window,” said Mark Tyner, an apartment resident.  They took him to the hospital.  He may have hurt his leg but he’s alright.”

The Red Cross says it’s helping those fire victims with a place to stay along with getting them clothes and other essentials.

No word from investigators on a cause of the fire yet.
